Cody Meixner is the Higher Education Law Fellow in the Office of General Counsel at The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining Penn State, he was the Applied Research Intern at the Institute for Higher Education Policy in Washington, D.C., where he focused on equity-based degree reclamation policies and the removal of barriers for incarcerated individuals’ post-secondary education. He worked as a legal intern in the Office of General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Education in the Divisions of Post-Secondary Education and Regulatory Services as well as the Office of Legal Counsel at the University of Montana.
Cody received his B.A. from the University of Montana in 2016 and served as the president of its Associated Students. He earned his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., where he was Director of Academic Affairs for the Student Bar Association and a staffer for the Sustainable Development Law & Policy Brief. He was also a Research Assistant for Professor Robert Tsai and a mentor for other first-generation law students. Cody is currently taking courses to complete his MPA at American University in the spring of 2020.
