Christopher K. Hulburt is Associate General Counsel at The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Chris served for nine years as the Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Eclipse Resources Corporation, a publicly traded oil and gas company headquartered in State College, Pennsylvania. At Eclipse Resources, Chris served as the chief legal officer overseeing all legal affairs of the company, including U.S. securities regulation and compliance, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and corporate governance. Chris also served as the company’s corporate secretary and the chief legal advisor to the company’s board of directors. Before joining Eclipse Resources, Chris was the Executive Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel of Rex Energy Corporation, a publicly traded oil and gas company. Prior to that, Chris was a senior associate for the law firm of Hodgson Russ LLP in Buffalo, New York working in its corporate and securities practice group on matters relating to securities regulation and compliance, corporate law and governance, and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Hodgson Russ, he was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, first serving as a military prosecutor, and later as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. Chris received his B.A. in History/Education, summa cum laude, from Niagara University, and his J.D., cum laude, from Western New England College School of Law.
